Don't Mention The Weather
(bmf show report)

WELL the event arrived at last, Europe’s biggest bike show, of which we are part. I do hope that you all realise how important this is to us all.
Went down on Friday night  to see ourstand being built. Steve, Ken, Ady and Bill , were all there – they’ve been there I think  since last year – so left the site in very capable hands.
I arrived on my GT Bandit on Saturday  morning at 8.45. Geoff, Derek and Neil were already there, having ridden on the day. Let’s not talk about the rain as it’s a four letter word anyway.
Steve as usual had got the stand in pristine condition – space, planning and know-how. I know I could be biased but, for a small membership club, the stand really looks good. Lots more of you should make the effort to come.

Big Geoff and Steve Barnett arrived during Saturday, as did many callers I think just to look at Ken’s scooter. It was the star attraction all weekend. We had a sweepstake on it as to what people looked at the most –Ken won hands down.

Sunday was the cavalcade day and also the judging day for best club stand so it was our best wet suits on (no mention of the rain). Neil and Bill were our entants for the cavalcade where to get an interview is a feather in the cap (I won’t mention last years fracas) and both got to talk.
The eloquence was beyond my wildest dreams and all was put over with great magnitude, intellect and fortitude. Oooooh, I went all weak with the thought that we got over to a few more people what our club is all about.
Then later they came to examine our stand (won’t mention that it was wet). I did happen to know the judges – didn’t offer a bribe though as I know that Porno wouldn’t hand over any money anyway. We were happy, I  just hope they were.
Then it came time to pack up. Dismantling the stand, Bill once more showed his eloquence when getting his thumb caught.
Still, it was a full and enjoyable weekend  (please note no mention of the rain) so we all dripped off to home very happy.
