This
is from Steve Every who has an acquaintance in

He had a GT550 that's obviously been sitting
around for sometime
and she want's to either get rid of it or get
it restored
but
needs to get it shifted soon.
If anyone can help, Steve
would appreciate it.

To
my shame, I have a blue L reg GT 750 in my garage that has been neglected and
un-ridden for 18 months. I have just
piled insult to injury by buying a new bike
and now need the space in my garage.
I was considering taking it to the scrap yard, but my wife sensibly suggested I
try your
club first. I am not looking for any serious recompense and
depending on what I
am offered would consider donating the whole amount to a charity that your club
selects.
The bike has stood me in good stead in the past, taking me from
far reaches of
a week. It certainly doesn't deserve the treatment I have given it over
the last 18 months.
If I was keeping it, it would need to be completely scrubbed to take the alloy
white rust
off and cleaned, the rust taken off the disks, greasing, oiling, a new
battery, almost
ertainly two new tyres and of course an MOT. But it went into the garage
with nothing
more than (as I remember) a small oil leak from one of the gaskets.
Anyone interested in it for a winter project or just spares ? Or is it destined
for scrap ?
It has 38,000 miles and is in
